CHECK OUT THE
Karen Dalessandro
Hi FM106'ers,
How exciting...It's been over a decade since I joined the morning show at FM*106 and I'm flattered to think you're taking time to stop here and find our more about me. Here goes.......
I grew up in a blue collar suburb of Detroit (nowhere
near 8 Mile!) and realized pretty early on that I wanted to be one of those voices coming through my radio speaker. Since there weren't too many "girl" voices, nobody took me seriously which made me even more determined to make this my career goal.
I enrolled in a local broadcasting school and before I knew it was on the air at my first paying radio job. It was located in the middle of a cow pasture in Ann
Arbor, Michigan and it was there I conducted my first "real" interview with a relatively unknown band, also
just starting their career, called Alabama. This was the start of many years on Detroit radio stations, including both of the country stations in town. In 1998, I heard
Bill Whyte was leaving the WMIL morning show and contacted the guy who would become my boss, Kerry Wolfe. When offered the job, it was a no-brainer...I could either live in the land of the Lions or live in the land of the Packers. It was destiny!
And was it ever.....since the morning show began thirteen years ago, Scott, Radar and I have been
recognized by many local and state agencies for our
work in the community and with the CAP Fund. Our highest honor came in 2001, when we were named "Broadcast Personalities of the Year" by the Country Music Association.
All that aside, the ultimate compliment is that you
allow us into your lives every morning. The fact that
you choose to share even a small part of your day with
us is beyond special. Milwaukee has made me feel at home from the day I arrived, so speaking for my
husband Doug, our dog Bodie and our VERY noisy cockatoo Oscar,
thank you! And I'll see ya in the morning-

Scott Dolphin
Scott has been with FM 106.1 since 1994. Wow! He likes to consider himself the calming force on Karen. He's accomplished most of his major goals since joining the show. Bunjee jumper, cream puff eating contestant (he's 0-18) and award winning news guy, (o.k....just news guy).
Scott's favorite things about the show is helping out great charities like the CAP Fund as well as taking spectacular trips to Alaska, Mexico, Hawaii, New York, Disney World
and of course, Music City, USA. His least favorite thing
is waking up day after day at 3am. "You just learn how to live feeling lousy!"
Scott hails from Cascade, Iowa (Home of the Cougars) and started his radio days in 1984 in Rock Island, Illinois. After stops in Monterey, San Francisco and Madison, he's proud to call Brew City home.

Scott lives in Milwaukee with his wife of 21 years, JaDee, who is a Milwaukee Public School teacher, and their
two kids Kylie, 17 and Sam 14.
Radar
Hey, it’s resident NASCAR expert Radar!!
Many listeners ask how I got the name “Radar”. I started interning for the show shortly after graduating from Waukesha County Technical College in Pewaukee, WI. I received a degree in Police Science, but felt radio was my true calling. Because of my
degree, I was tagged with a few nicknames like “Trooper” and “Chief”. One that seemed to be mentioned more than any was “Radar”, as in radar detector. The rest is radio history!!
Want to know the best thing about the name “Radar”? It’s spelled the same backward and forward. That way, you never know which way I’m thinking!!
In addition to WCTC, I also enrolled in the Radio Broadcasting program at Gateway Technical College in Kenosha, WI. That gave me the experience to land the morning position I’ve held since January of 2000.
I have fun everyday listening to great country music and talking with y'all!!
When I’m not having fun at FM 106.1, I’m having fun at home in West Allis with my wife Jessica and our three kids….Noah, Lexi and Hailey.

Got a NASCAR question…EMAIL ME!! GO #24!!
