Like a lot of people my age, I have fond memories of watching "American Bandstand" and seeing Dick Clark.  When you think about it the show was pretty simple: they played records and a studio full of teenagers danced to the music.  You had a guest artist perform (usually lip-synching their latest hit) and they did Rate a Record ("It had a good beat. I'll give it a 47.")  But it was part of our culture and over the years the show introduced us to a ton of great music.

Dick Clark was more than just Bandstand's host; he also helped shape our culture, our TV viewing habits and gave us plenty of smiles along the way.  Thank you Dick Clark, and God Bless.
