MILWAUKEE – FM 106.1 WMIL is proud to announce the line up for FM 106.1 CountryFest 2008, A 25th Anniversary Celebration, presented by Time Warner Cable: Montgomery Gentry, Gary Allan and Phil Stacey, Saturday April 19th at the Bradley Center.  FM 106.1 CountryFest 2008 begins at 7:30pm, with doors opening at 6pm.

“This is FM 106.1’s 25th anniversary of playing country music in Southeastern Wisconsin and we decided it was time to have the biggest celebration we could possibly have,” said Kerry Wolfe, Director of Programming Clear Channel Milwaukee.  “What a better place than the biggest indoor concert venue in the area.  We’re excited about taking the show to the Bradley Center.”

Since their debut in 1999, Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry have been a cornerstone of the most important movement in country music since the Outlaws.  Just as Waylon, Willie and the rest kicked open the genre’s doors in the 1970’s, Columbia recording artists Montgomery Gentry has helped kick-start 21st century country.  Theirs is a world of blue-collar anthems, tales of life, work, love, loss and patriotism balanced by the hard-partying spirit that takes the edge off – “the good, the bad, the ugly, and the party on the weekends,” as Montgomery has long capsulated it.

Gary Allan hit the honky tonk circuit in his native Southern California at the seasoned age of 12.  Playing in and out of the bars with his dad’s band led Allan to follow in his father’s footsteps and start his own band.  When Allan returned to those same honky tonks with his own combo, the sound was true Bakersfield country:  Merle Haggard, Buck Owens and the rest.  From his first release Used Heart for Sale in 1996 to his current CD Living Hard, released from MCA Nashville, Allan continues to deliver raw and emotional, hard-rockin’, no-apologies country music.

Phil Stacey first made a name for himself as a top 6 finalist on season 6 of American Idol.  Stacey honed his vocal skills throughout college and his service in the United States Navy.  After the 55-city American Idol tour wrapped in September 2007 and the completion of his 4-year commitment to the Navy, Phil moved his family to Nashville and signed on with Lyric Street Records.  His debut album is set for release April 29, 2008.

Tickets are $37 and $27 (plus applicable fees) and are on sale now at the Bradley Center Box Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, on line at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 414-276-4545.
