GEORGE WEBB SKILLETS AND SCRAMBLERS, OH MY!!

The National Breast Cancer Coalition is on a mission to end breast cancer by January 1, 2020. There is a strategic plan to get this done and it involves YOU! Signatures are needed on a petition that will be delivered to the White House January 2012.
In Wisconsin, their goal is at least one signature for every diagnosis in our state each year--that is 4700. Nationally, the hope is 290,000 signatures – one for every diagnosis in the U.S. annually.
The petition can be signed online: http://www.breastcancerdeadline2020.org/get-involved/take-action/presidential-petition/Presidential-Petition.html or on paper (same link to download a pdf).
The Deadline campaign is a historic effort to end the disease by focusing resources on primary prevention that gets little attention in current research funding and learning how to prevent metastasis. Success in these two areas would definitely stop the women we love from dying of breast cancer. With mortality rates only decreasing about 2% annually – despite the billions of $ spent annually on research - it’s time for a new approach. Let's get it done!!
Should you be tested for breast cancer risk? Karen finds out more about the family history connection with genetics counselor Jenny Geurts from Froedtert Hospital. Good information.....
Jean Sprinkle is a young, vibrant women I met at my 2012 mammogram screening. She has been a mammogram technologist for 14 years at CDI Breast Care so it was shock to learn she had been diagnosed with breast cancer. Jean wrote this letter to family and friends and asked if I would share it with you....
Like the rest of us, former Wauwatosa Mayor Jill Didier is a busy lady! But she heard about Karen's Bosom Buddies and wrote to share her story: Click here to read her letter.
