Many of you shared my sadness when I lost my Mom to breast cancer in 2009. Your e-mails and calls of support helped me through the most difficult time of my life.
I founded Check Ups for Chicks soon after my Mom's passing so that I could help other women become pro-active about their health and assure that everyone is able to get a mammogram screening if they need it. So many of us put everything else before ourselves and many of us, like my Mom, are either uneducated or scared.
Thank you for being there for me and I hope this webpage is there for you if you need it.

Mammograms For Mom!
Moms came from all over southeast Wisconsin to enjoy good food and good health at Karen's Mothers Day Mammogram Breakfast. Special thanks to Machine Shed, Columbia St. Mary's and Flowers by Faye for making it a special morning!

4,490 IS WAY TOO MANY
Lots of smiling faces at the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk on the lakefront this weekend! Fox 6's Mary Stoker Smith, my good friend Bailey Coleman of V100 and I hosted the event. Here we are with the Girl Scouts!
4490 Pink Cut Outs were displayed on the lawn of the Milwaukee Art Museum to represent the number of women in Wisconsin that will be diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013. It was a powerful reminder of the reason we were all Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
